EU4 Strength Score - 1 Week Update
Quick update on EU4 Strength Score, the score/recommendation tool that links back here for chains. Some of you may have seen the version of this I posted on r/eu4, but since it connects directly with achievement chains, figured it's worth sharing here too.
Some stats I feel proud of, since last Friday:
- the tool was used for 1020 calculations
- by 827 distinct users
- 129 achievements were unlocked after the first time using the tool, 35 of which were suggested by the tool directly
These changes were introduced:
- switched to EU4 wiki's difficulty instead of Steam achievement rarity, as requested by almost everyone
- "Suggest something harder" button that recommends three more achievements of a higher difficulty (on the result's page)
- "Request recalculation" button on the results page, an easy way to trigger a new result, e.g. if you unlocked something new and want to see new suggestions
- leaderboard page (calculations from before switching to EU4 wiki difficulty grading aren't counted in; some people share a score, so treat it as sharing a spot rather than a tiebreak)
- a bug report page (available once you've made a calculation)
- deeper linking with achievement chains here -- create a chain straight from a result page, or click any achievement icon on eu4.jane.berlin to jump to its page on this site
- fixed a few cases where suggestions were too easy or jumped too far ahead in difficulty -- thanks to those who flagged those
What's next: a similar tool now exists for HOI4, CK3, Vic3, and EU5 too, each linking back here the same way. Two people asked about Epic Games integration -- still in R&D, and I'd love to hear from someone with an actual Epic Games EU4 account to test API calls against. A few people also suggested a score-per-playtime metric; open to it if people still want it now that scoring is difficulty-based.
Thanks to everyone who's used the tool so far!
